Charlie Brown (yes, he actually gets his own post)

You may know that my family has a dog; his name is Charlie Brown. He is little, brown, fluffy, and mischievous.
Now that the formal introduction is over,  let me make it clear that he is not my dog -- we don't get along.
I'm just not a fan of animals. Some people are and some people aren't. I have accepted this as a fact of my life.
However, my family, being fans of the little guy, has decided to keep him.

At first, we tried to like each other, but sometime over the [almost] two years we've had him, he and I have done the opposite of bond. We've gotten to the point in our relationship where he likes food more than me. Aren't dogs supposed to be loyal or something?
Growling and glaring at me, sitting on the top of our couch (he's the same color... and blends in. I'll let you fill in what usually happens), barking obnoxiously as innocent people walk by, flopping around like he doesn't have any bones, and eating are just some of his regular activities.  Now with this description, you might be tempted to think that he is your regular, average, normal, Teddy-Bear dog (apparently that's the breed — and to his defense, he does look like a teddy bear)... but he's not.  Actually, I don't even know if he is a real dog.

I think that the lady we got him from is hiding something from us -- he could very well be half weasel for all we know. Of course this is all just speculation...

I try to tell him that our relationship could be better if only he'd be more loyal (and not as annoying) to me.
Obviously, he doesn't listen. In fact (to prove I'm not going insane) he turns his head and gives a "harrumph".
Yes, I have come to the conclusion that he listens, understands, but is deliberately defiant to my wishes. This is the core issue in our relationship.
And did I mention that he loves to eat? He'd probably eat 'till the point of explosion and still not be content. I might be wrong, but I don't think all dogs are little gluttons.

Despite all this, I am thankful that we have a dog... if only because he has blessed my family so.
And it's okay that we don't quite get along; (despite what the vet says) I doubt we'll ever truly get along.
If the little guy makes my family happy, then, well, that's all right with me -- just so long as he doesn't enter my room.
Hey, I guess he is kinda cute...
