Without sounding all "peace, love, and happiness," I think the world could use a little more love.
In our fast-paced society, it is all too easy to get caught up in: what we're doing, when, and how fast we can do it. We really just need to stop and smell the roses.
Life is short; why shouldn't we enjoy it?
I was looking out my window at the sunset a little while ago, and a phrase wrote itself in my mind:
"These are the days that I will cherish forever".
I was then struck with an overwhelming sense of nostalgia from the past year — those days went so quickly.
My goal has been to not just live, but to thrive. It kind of pertains to my New Years resolution...
I have to admit that I'm not doing such a fantastic job with that resolution, but I am still giving it my all. Remembering that I am only human, a tool, and that Jesus uses me as he chooses. His love for me is so humbling - I serve a holy God.
I know that there is a time for everything under the sun (Ecclesiastes 3:1), but we should be a lot more generous with our smiles and laughs. Show Jesus' love to everyone at all times — not just on the holiday and to those we "love".
♥ Love love.
Happy Valentine's Day!
